UKOM Reappoints Comscore as Official Partner for UK Online Audience Measurement
London, UK, 21 April, 2015 – Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today announced that UKOM (UK Online Measurement Ltd), the leading voice for online audience measurement and governance for media owners, advertisers and media agencies in the UK, has signed an extension contract renewing their appointment of Comscore as the exclusive partner for online media audience measurement in the UK.
UKOM originally appointed Comscore in 2012, naming them the approved data supplier partner commencing January 2013. The renewal is an extension, which ensures that Comscore continues as UKOM’s exclusive data supplier until March 2018. The agreement is based on a rolling review process that can extend the contract beyond 2018. UKOM is jointly owned by AOP and IAB, and governed by a cross-industry board with representatives from the IAB and AOP with ISBA and IPA (in an ex officio capacity). UKOM collectively represents the media measurement interests of the UK’s leading digital publishers, advertisers and agencies.
Since Comscore became the official partner, UKOM have provided Industry Standard status endorsement to Comscore MMX, Comscore Video Metrix and Comscore MMX Multi-Platform services and have provided Development Level endorsement to Comscore Mobile Metrix, which was launched in January 2015.
The new contract also ensures that UKOM and Comscore are continuously working toward measurement of new platforms to address the evolutions of new technologies and consumer behaviour. The introduction of the UKOM Development Level endorsement status ensures that services can be brought to market quickly to keep pace with technological advances while still undergoing a thorough review by UKOM technical and commercial groups.
“We are thrilled that UKOM have reappointed Comscore as the industry currency for online audience measurement in the UK,” said Serge Matta, CEO and President of Comscore. “Through this ongoing relationship, Comscore and UKOM have delivered trusted, industry-supported solutions that provide media owners and buyers alike with actionable insights to better grow their businesses. We look forward to the continuation of this partnership with UKOM to bring best-in-class in audience measurement to the UK.”
“UKOM has truly come of age over the last couple of years and is now firmly established as the digital audience measurement standard for the media industry, which has been the industry-wide ambition for UKOM since its beginning in 2010,” said Douglas McArthur, Chairman of UKOM. “Thanks in great part to the work of Comscore as our research partner since 2013, that ambition is reality and UKOM now has the platform to keep pace with the rapid advances of the digital landscape and remain a cornerstone of audience measurement. We are very pleased to renew our contract with Comscore as the exclusive partner of online audience measurement in the UK and we look forward to more years of continued partnership.”
