Our Roadmap for Safeguarding Continuity in EU-U.S. Data Transfers for Comscore Customers
As you may know, on 16 July 2020, the Court of Justice of the European Union (“CJEU”) confirmed the validity of the Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”) for the transfer of personal data outside of the European Union (“EU”), while invalidating the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework.
At Comscore, we understand the critical importance of privacy and data protection when data moves across international borders. Our approach to privacy is an interplay of industry best practices and our ongoing commitment to transparency, consumer choice, and the security of information. Accordingly, we extended GDPR-level security protections to the personal data we process all over the world. For more information about our comprehensive security program please visit, https://www.comscore.com/About/Privacy/Security.
We are closely watching for further guidance from EU data protection authorities in light of this decision regarding how to best provide service to customers it impacts. In addition, for data transfers from Switzerland, Comscore will continue to participate in the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield framework and will monitor for regulatory guidance on the status of this framework.
As the trusted currency for planning, transacting, and evaluating media across platforms, Comscore understands that media measurement is a crucial driver of global business growth, especially with the recent shift in media consumption in response to the impact of COVID-19. Media measurement is essential and Comscore is committed to providing the exemplary service our customers expect.

Publishers Using Comscore Tags
If you are a publisher using Comscore tags on your digital properties, as joint controllers for the transmission of personal data and independent controllers for the processing for our products and services, we have pre-signed applicable SCCs (controller to controller) and included the description of the transfer for tagging. We encourage you to click here and have an authorized signatory submit the SCCs to Comscore.
Other Clients
Comscore is continuing to evaluate our data transfer activities and collaborate with clients and the industry to update agreements, where necessary. We will be reaching out in the coming weeks.
