Comscore’s TRUSTe, BBB Certifications Extended
Each year, Comscore pursues recertification and membership in a number of leading privacy and business programs. While there is no legal requirement for us to meet the requirements of these organizations, Comscore voluntarily holds itself to higher standards. We want consumers who participate in our programs and the clients of our services to be comfortable that our practices are vetted, follow industry best practices, and that we are responsive to questions and concerns.
We are pleased to announce that Comscore’s ScorecardResearch service has been re-certified in the TRUSTe Trusted Data Privacy program for 2015. Since we joined the program in 2011, we have found that the partnership with TRUSTe is enormously helpful in demonstrating our commitment to transparency around Comscore’s internet measurement methodology. This program requires a rigorous review from TRUSTe’s experts of our opt-out mechanisms and processes. Comscore is also required to respond to all consumer questions that come in via TRUSTe’s independent feedback/complaint mechanism.
Comscore has also accepted the Better Business Bureau’s offer to extend its membership in the program, where we currently maintain an A+ rating. Our affiliation with the BBB over the last 10 years requires that we quickly and adequately respond to all questions that flow in through the BBB’s complaint resolution system, which is a trusted first stop for consumers. Comscore proudly allocates resources for timely responses in order to meet the BBB’s high standards.
If you have any questions about these programs or Comscore’s privacy program in general, please feel free to contact us.
