Official Hot Sale Event Website Delivered More than 1 Million Clickouts During 5-Day Period
Mexico City, Mexico, September 18th, 2014 – Comscore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a global leader in measuring the digital world, today released data from the Comscore Digital Analytix® service showing visitation and retailer referral activity for Hotsale.com.mx during the recent Hot Sale event in Mexico. Hot Sale, an initiative driven by the Mexican Association of Online Sales with the objective to increase the development of e-commerce in Mexico, is supported by the Mexican Internet Association (AMIPCI), Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Communication Industry Confederation (CICOM Mexico).
The opportunity to grow e-commerce in Mexico is significant as, according to Comscore MMX®, Mexico is ranked 38th out of 43 reportable countries by Comscore for the reach of e-commerce sites with only 59 percent per month versus 78 percent in countries like Brazil, or 88 percent and 89 percent in the U.S. and Canada respectively. Initiatives such as Hot Sale can help engage more consumers in Mexico with online retail and grow the industry over time.

Hotsale.com.mx Behavior by DayUsing Digital Analytix data, site activity was analyzed from the days preceding the Hot Sale event through the event itself. Although the event began on Friday, September 5, there was a significant increase in activity on Thursday in anticipation of the event with 122,000 browsers – up from just 4,000 on Monday, September 1.
Friday was the peak day of activity for Hotsale.com.mx with more than 256,000 visitors. That day also had the highest number of page views (352,000) and average visit time (12:08 minutes). With the average web visit in Mexico at approximately five minutes per visit, it is clear that hotsale.com.mx site was effective in engaging visitors in the online shopping experience.

Computers Drive 70 Percent of Clickout Activity from Hot Sale WebsiteDuring the period of September 5-8, the hotsale.com.mx site saw that 70.1 percent of the clickouts were realized through a computer, 18.7 percent through a mobile phone and 10.6 percent through a tablet. It should also be noted that there were 752 clickouts through “big screen” devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles.

Top Sites Visited from Hot Sale WebsiteThe measurement data reveal that Liverpool was the main site to which browsers of hotsale.com.mx visited with 65,823 clickouts through the computer, 20,363 through the mobile phone, and 10,815 through a tablet. In second place we have Walmart with 63,911 clickouts through a computer, 19,766 through a mobile phone and 8,647clickouths through tablets. In third place was Best Buy, with 52,042 clickouts through a computer, 15,201 though a mobile phone and 8,109 through tablets.
