Most Visitors to Online Gaming Sites in Mexico are WomenA demographic analysis of the Online Gaming category in Mexico showed that 51 percent of visitors to the category are women. Among both males and females, the highest propensity to visit Online Gaming sites and the highest engagement occurred among age 6-14 year olds. Interestingly, Females age 55 and older also show high engagement with Online Gaming.
“This data reveals that the notion of gamers being predominantly men is a myth,” said Ivan Marchant, Vice President of Comscore Mexico. “In fact, we see that females are more likely to be Online Gamers than men, and across most demographic segments they are also more highly engaged. This dynamic means opportunity for marketers in Mexico interested in reaching females, who often influence a significant amount of household spending decisions.”
Alejandro Bertoldi, EGS manager added: “The data revealed by Comscore confirms the trends that we’ve seen during 12 years at EGS. At the most important video games event in our country, these insights can be very beneficial in helping attendees develop strategies for marketing success.”
